Chapter 66.01
Last time, when I consumed the Resurrection Pills, the feeling of how my soul returned to the body was not very clear. However, this time, the feeling of how every sense organ in the body reconnected with my spiritual consciousness was very clear but so slow.
There was a reconnecting pain, but the more painful it was, the more it made me realize that my body has returned.
As I manipulated my somewhat numb fingertips, I clenched my fists tightly. With a “bang”, the layer of ice covering my hands shattered. Then a series of crackling sounds rang out, making all of the ice covering my body break into smithereens.
I opened my eyes, jumped down from the loosened ice wall, and landed on one knee. I pushed myself up to stand, and shook my long robe. Then I slightly opened my mouth and let loose a warm puff of air.
As I watched the breath in my mouth turn into a white mist that hovers inside this iceberg cave, oh, how I sincerely missed this kind of warmth. As I circled my neck around, I took another deep breath. This ice-cold air was so, so good.
I took a sincere liking to this feeling, being able to use my own body to feel everything in this world.
“Let’s go.” I looked at Qin Qian Xian before me, as he calmly gazed at me. I said, “I should get back to Chen Ji Mountain.”
I could not let Mo Qing wait for too long.
Qin Qian Xian bowed his head: “The structure in this cave is inherently complicated, which is accompanied by a maze. As you follow behind me, you must not take the wrong step.”
I smiled: “It’s still unlikely for me, Lu Zhao Yao, to not even know how to walk.” As soon as I said these words, I took a step, only to find that my foot suddenly felt stiff, and my knee dropped to the ground in such a way that it did not even listen to my orders. As my body wobbled for a little bit, I wanted to balance myself, but strangely, I could not control the equilibrium of my four limbs. My body tilted sideways and I dropped straight to the ground.
Fortunately, a hand stretched out towards me, and with much difficulty, it got a hold of my arm. The temperature of this palm was slightly cooler than the average person. As I raised my head and glanced at QIn Qian Xian, he casted his eyes down and looked away from me.
I thanked him, and only felt his palm pause on my arm for a short moment before he took it back.
“Why don’t these legs and feet listen to my orders?” I pounded my legs and wondered to myself, was it because my body was too stiff? However, last time, when I consumed the Resurrection Pills, this situation did not even happen.
“Having left your body for a long time, so not being able to adapt is normal.”
Qin Qian Xian raised his hand, and he broke a corner off the block of ice beside him, which gave it a slight depression. Then he smoothly cut open his hand on the sharp edge of another block of ice. As he clenched his fist, the blood seeped out from the palm of his hand and dripped into the slight depression of that transparent ice. Using the block of ice as a container, he handed me the small cup of blood, “My blood may help you adapt more quickly.”
Although I cultivated the Demon Path, and had done a lot of bad things in this lifetime, but never had I done anything like drink human blood before. So I felt that this was a new experience. I took the block of ice from his hand, and drained the cup in one gulp. The taste of fresh blood emanated from the tip of my tongue, carrying a fishy flavor and rusty smell. It was no different from the taste of blood that I used to vomit from my previous fights and injuries.
It was just that when I swallowed the fresh blood down my throat, there was a refreshing feeling that emerged within all four of my limbs. So when I lifted my foot to move forward again, my body became much more coordinated.
Qin Qian Xian’s blood was so miraculous, no wonder it could also resurrect Luo Ming Xuan.
“Your blood is really effective, wait until I get…” I licked my lips, holding back my next words.
Wait until I get out of here and end this thing; I would feed Zhi Yan delicious food every day. I would nourish her, and raise her to be so white and so plump. Then every two days, I would draw her blood, and drink it to nourish my body.
As I contemplated my designs on Zhi Yan, I stealthily shot a glance at him. I saw that he did not take my words to heart, he just simply turned around to leave, while I immediately followed him obediently from behind. Walking out of the cave, it was quiet along the way, so I immediately asked him: “Do you know why your blood is so effective?”
“It is said that an ancestor ascended towards heaven to become an immortal. From then on, the descendants were immediately blessed with this good fortune, we all belong directly to the same bloodline, and for many generations it has been this way. However, as far as I’m concerned, there’s really no difference.”
Oh, so actually after ascending to heaven, the immortal would even give the descendants some sort of good fortune? Then, as an immortal’s widow, could I unexpectedly gain something, too? When I thought about it, I immediately probed the aura in my body. I was so focused on the probing, my foot stepped in the wrong place…
A hand immediately reached out to grab my hand. It pulled my body that was already halfway inside the maze back out.
“Be careful.”
Then he quickly released my hand.
I coughed and realized that I should have concentrated on the path, instead. Letting someone who cultivated the Bodhisattva path come and drag me out two to three times was more than enough. If it was a really pure-hearted, clear-minded living Buddha, then it was fine, but this Qin Qian Xian had a criminal record!
Last time, the inner demon that I stared into existence got exterminated with much difficulty. If this time another one was dragged into existence again, I really did not know how I should compensate him.
