Seedling 19
Rustle. Russssssstle. Ruuuustle.
It wasn’t my fault.
Rustle!
No, seriously, how could anyone predict that adding mana to a growing ecosystem would turn out that way.
Flying mice with the speed of bullets, watery mice that stealth with unparalleled skill, earthy mice with adamantite defenses.
Worms that regenerate in a flash, birds that harvest souls, things like this can’t be predicted.
Russtle.
What do you mean you saw it all coming a mile away?
Since when could you see in the future!?
Kehoko the White Fox has Evolved! Light Magic unlocked due to mana saturation!
Now, let’s not be hasty here, I’m sure that was just a coincidence.
Kurhoko the Black Fox has Evolved! Dark Magic unlocked due to mana saturation!
I’m sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation.
Rustle.
What do you mean reasonable explanations and me do not coexist, I take offense, offense I say!
Besides, if they hadn’t upgraded they wouldn’t survive in my Garden.
My carefully crafted Garden is like a slice of nature. I love gardens. They have all the peace and serenity wrapped into a delicious cut of heaven.
There have been a few rather…odd…changes due to my mana, yet the basics are still firm.
Sadly, some of the slaves that wander in go missing.
Same for the thieves, assassins, spies, tax collectors, and disgruntled losers from previous matches.
Level UP! Mana Augmentation raised to 4. Elemental Resistance reaches MAX!
I have had mixed success lately with my Blessing experiments. Somehow, I can’t get a blessing without something going wrong.
Take for example, Experiment #172.
The common Wind Mouse.
Normally these creatures are in no way threatening as they use their wind magic for speed to escape predators. This is a valuable use of magic, ensuring the species survives and even prospers even in predator rich environments.
When you add enough mana though you get something much different.
Wind Mouse has Evolved into White Cloud Reaper Mouse! Wind Law unlocked!
Something with speed like a certain MCU hero, flying, and a total disregard for air safety traffic concerns.
I still haven't figured out what exactly a "Law" in magic is, it's peculiar to be sure. Somehow the mana costs for certain actions under a law are massively reduced.
The previously innocent wind mice also ramp up in aggression, no longer content to simply flee from predators…
No, instead they turn into bloodthirsty ninja mice of scariness.
Rustleeee!
Well yes, everything in here likes us. Just wait till they start talking though. That’ll be the day things all go wrong. I can already see the word, no, evolving into something horrific.
Crow has Evolved into Soul Thieving Shadow! Soul Magic unlocked due to mana saturation!
A plus to this situation is of course my recent discovery of viable Summoning magic.
Nothing says, “I disdain combat with peons like you types” better than a good old multiple monster summoning beatdown.
Recently there has been word that Summoning magic might be restricted in the Arena as it isn’t quite fair.
Rustle. Rustttttle. Ruuuuuustle.
Well, you are right. At least we took the gambling halls for everything we could before they changed the odds on us. I still think we should have narrowly won a few more.
Rustle.
True, true, that Barbarian did insult us...people shouldn’t say things like that, even in a life and death combat.
I really didn’t have a choice except to render his arms and legs into ashes while letting our pets feed on him slowly.
People need to understand there are limits on certain things.
At least our room isn’t a total deathtrap, I mean there are those two nice young children that visit us.
All the pets seem to like the little girl too, it makes me want to try something for the boy.
Yes.
Yes. I’m getting a good feeling about this.
Let’s see how Enchanting works shall we?
