Chapter 81 Bureaucratism Is Important
On a normal day, Blue Moon Town was a quiet place. One would not be able to tell that so many elves lived there.
But it was an unusual day, a huge amount of elves had appeared and started bustling around.
The movement of over 40 thousand people was no small feat. A hurried and crowded scene gradually appeared in front of William.
As elves were rather poor in reproduction, they had little family burden. But they bought too many things with them instead.
Living for hundreds of years, Elves had collected many goods and furniture that they liked. They would also store many weapons and equipment.
In the human nations, almost any elf who was above the age of 100 were aristocrats. They were considered wealthy.
But there was a point that had to be raised.
Elves with long lives constantly lived in a dilemma.
They liked new scenery and things, but would also remember old goods from hundreds or even thousands of years ago. These items were items that they treasured, or something that had been in their possession for hundreds of years, as well as items that were passed down in their families.
Due to their long lifespans, the effects of inertia slowly appeared. They even grew lazy. They liked to leisurely sit on their rocking chairs and rest all day, like old humans.
But their blood was still active. It provided them with the opportunity to try new things, like young people!
A long life would allow them to experience more things. They lived longer than others, but it was full of pain.
For example, they had thousands of years' worth of memories. According to the characteristics of life, they could choose to forget many things. But among these painful memories, there were many that the elves could never forget.
Thus, when they moved house, it was much more inconvenient than the Tauren Warriors.
Unlike those slaves that William had bought, which had nothing but the clothes on their bodies!
How about ordinary civilians? They only needed two bags.
But in this group, each person needed at least one carriage to bring all of their items.
Sadly, the elves who lived in the forest did not have many horses. Only 300 to 400 horses were there in the entire Blue Moon Town.
There were some magical beasts raised as pets by the Elven hunters. But there were only a few of them. And even if they exerted all of their strength, they would not be able to carry much.
Thus, William had no choice but to use the magic transmission scroll and bring some carriages from the City of Dawn.
At the same time, he also informed Odom to gather some people. They would start planning for the expansion of the city and immediately start work.
[Notice: Complete the hidden mission for the future of Princess Annie]
[Mission Completion: 100%]
[Reward: 45 thousand elves will move to the City of Dawn]
[Reward: 98000 experience]
[Comment: You have good speaking skills, suitable for becoming a diplomat]
When William saw the sudden rewards from the mission, he smiled.
There seemed to be no real meaning in the mission rewards. Not much experience was awarded, either. But most importantly, he had obtained 45 thousand elves. Among them, a future legend called Aliya Seel.
"If I get it, I am lucky. But if I don't get it, it is because of fate. Who would have thought that after I discarded the plans of getting a boat blueprint, I would obtain even greater gains?" William proudly laughed. Without even realizing it, he had started looking forward to a pleasant future.
No one had thought that William had made this journey just to produce a boat blueprint.
And with his return, he had brought back with him the princess of the Moonlight Elves, as well as 45 thousand elves!
Odom, the assistant city head with curly gold hair, was both happy and shocked. His respect for his Lord had only increased.
The assistant team leader of the mercenary troops, Eric, greatly respected William. He felt that if he followed his Lord, he would have a better future, meat to eat, and alcohol to drink.
Alec's feelings could be summed up in one sentence. "Great Lord is the Son of Glory and the Son of Glory. It is normal for everyone to sit down and shout 6 at his mere actions."
As for blacksmith Old Hank and Moses, they did not like to participate in politics. They had no intention of sharing their opinions, even as many people discussed the topic along the streets…
After all, as a blacksmith who had obtained his inheritance from a saint, Old Hank was about to become a Legendary all-rounded Enchanter. And Moses was a person with Legendary Bloodline. They did not care about minor matters like this. They had their own opinions and waited in the City of Dawn, being too lazy to move. They simply felt that William was interesting.
Only Lautner was worried, as he knew that William's actions would definitely cause some people to be jealous and complain.
Princess Annie had come to form an alliance by marriage with the royalty of the Blackleaf Elves.
It was not that other princes had a chance, or needed some time, before they could get married to this princess.
But the current situation had turned into something much more complex.
Annie's arrival gave some people a sign.
She did not choose any other Elven princes. She chose William to be her partner in the future…
Tsk tsk. Although William was of royal blood, he was not someone who was approved by others.
Furthermore, he kidnapped this young princess…
This situation would bring a lot of trouble.
"But there are pros to this situation too. If William really gets together with Annie, the problem of his bloodline will not matter that much then. William would have forged an important connection with the Moonlight Elves!" Lautner stood at the city gate and looked into the distance.
Not long after, a group of people appeared out of the corner of his eye. He immediately issued a command and greeted the party. "Welcome back, my lord. Welcome, Princess Annie. Welcome, dear ones who have come from far away."
Behind him stood 3000 soldiers. 500 of them rode white horses and rushed forth.
They raised the flag of the City of Dawn. The flag consisted of a white ray of light cutting through gray clouds.
As the flag itself was made out of magical materials…
At that instant, sunlight shone over all of them!
The scene was extremely dazzling.
The rest of the 2500 soldiers drew their longswords and pointed them towards the sky. Their roars filled the area. "Welcome, Lord. Welcome, Princess. Welcome, comrades from Blue Moon Town!"
William watched as the mighty soldiers quickly flanked both sides and guarded the elves as they entered the city. His eyes lit up as he thought about it. Lautner had not spent six months with him for nothing. He was indeed very bureaucratic…
"You understand what I need. You really understand what I need…"
The effects were excellent.
One could see them just by looking at the expression of the elves from Blue Moon Town.
This mighty and warm welcome ceremony, no doubt, had made them feel happy and safe.
"All of them have standard armor fortified with mythril. So uniform. They seem very bold and powerful!"
"Not bad, not bad at all. From this, we can ascertain that the living environment in the City of Dawn should be very good."
"Yes. Lord William had asked them to send people and build the foundation for our new homes. He also told us that we can build treehouses that belong to us. This alone has made a good impression on me. The Prince with human blood is indeed interesting." Many elves pointed fingers and discussed.
Annie also took off her skirt and put on her armor that had not appeared for a long time. She rode her horse, looking valiant and brave.
William accompanied her. When they reached the city gate, he got off his horse and went up to her. He stretched out a hand and said in a soft voice, "Welcome to your new home. I hope that little sister Annie will like it."
Annie turned back and looked behind her. She took some time in recollection, but then she gripped William's hand tightly and got down from her horse. And the couple walked into the city together.
