Chapter 276 Eleven Legendary Professionals
The sun shone bright, and the sky was filled with clouds.
The prince and princess were riding on their white foals, as they wandered on the grass plain of Stormy Island. Behind them was a silly 2-meter tall Dragon who could not fly. He could only flap his wings, chasing after both of them.
Annie was wearing a white skirt that had slits on both sides. It looked like a cheongsam, but it was less tight, thus, it revealed the thighs.
The slits on the ancient cheongsam existed to allow the women greater convenience in riding a horse.
Annie rode on the foal version of the Thunder Warhorse for a while. Then she smiled and asked, "Why did the chosen ones disappear?"
"Who knows? Well, they're the chosen ones, aren't they?" William shrugged without giving any further explanation.
The upgrade of the game version coincided with the disappearance of the chosen ones. This not only intrigued the inhabitants of the southeastern region, but it also captured the attention of many other professionals.
There were sages and gods who had also been paying attention to the players.
The game version upgrade was like the mystery of the Heavens.
All the gods and sages were unable to find any clues.
They attributed the phenomenon to the miracles of Heaven.
The magic resurgence was coming. The gods and sages put aside their attention for the chosen ones, and they, instead, focused on the increase of magic intensity in the continents.
"Oh, is that all?" Annie smiled. She looked at William's handsome face and pouted. Then, she slapped the foal's back before riding off in a haste.
William followed behind. He was not afraid that the foal would lose control and throw the princess off. It was fun to ride the horse freely on the grass plain.
It was important to enjoy life besides working hard.
It would be pointless if one only worked for the betterment of the next generation.
"Faster, faster!" Annie discovered that she was about to be overtaken by William, and she immediately kicked her horse.
William had more experience in handling the warhorse. Moreover, his foal had an Advanced bloodline while Annie's foal had a Beginner bloodline. Her horse did not possess the capacity to gallop for a long period of time.
After a while, the competition of racing their horses concluded, and William emerged as the victor. He arrogantly smiled.
The aggrieved princess whistled. A unicorn flapped its wings and stepped on the rainbow as it came out of the clouds.
Annie rode on her unicorn and said, "Look for your Thunder Horse King. Let's compete again."
"Impossible! A win is a win. I'm not interested in competing again." William was indignant as he had depended solely on his capability. He knew that an Epic Thunder Warhorse could not catch up with a Legendary unicorn.
And, even if the Thunder Warhorse had a Legendary bloodline, it was no match for the unicorn.
Bloodline was bloodline.
The race made a lot of difference!
Would a Legendary NPC be on par with the Legendary Great Dragon?
But the unicorn was comparable to the Great Dragon.
And it was even rarer than the Great Dragon.
William thought of his precious small Dragon and ignored the hurt feelings of the princess. He turned back but he could not find the young Dragon. While William was competing with Annie, they had lost the Dragon.
Using his Soul Perception, William found the Dragon, who had fallen into a pit.
"Hmm, why is there such a huge pit on the grass plain? It seems like the work of someone who is thinking of stealing warhorses. You better let the patrolling soldiers check it out. Let's see if we can catch the horse thief," Annie said in a helpful manner when she saw the pit. She had forgotten about her unhappiness.
William nodded awkwardly. "Hmm, that is true. I'll get someone to fill the pit."
When William saw the pit, he found it strangely familiar.
He recalled that the pit had been dug by him when he had tried to capture the Thunder Horse King…
The small Dragon was chasing after William at a high speed and accidentally fell into the pit. His head collided with the pit wall and he felt dizzy.
When he saw his master, William, he shook his head. He knew that William was not easy to please. The small Dragon pushed his claws into the soil and clumsily climbed out.
He had no choice…
He was an enslaved Dragon…
His life was very pitiful.
Besides having enough to eat, when his master was at home, he would be tortured.
He discovered that his life was very similar to a creature called 'dog'.
"Ao." The small Dragon climbed up from the pit and shook his wings. He howled to vent his frustrations.
Then he shut his mouth. Even his howl sounded like a puppy. He had lost almost all of his Great Dragon's dominance.
It could not be helped.
For the past half a year, he had been mixing around two bears that did nothing except sleeping and eating.
The small Dragon had not learned anything useful.
But he had picked up all the bad habits.
And the small Dragon's growth was very slow.
Even though he had access to the flesh of magical beasts, magic potions, and magic crystal powder, he still appeared young. He had only reached level 29.
William looked at the small Dragon wistfully. He decided he had to obtain the 'Blood essence of the Blood Dragon'.
Otherwise, the obesity of the Dragon would limit his level upgrades.
Both Annie and William dismounted from their horses before they strolled leisurely back.
"The Great Elder informed me that the continent is entering a state of magic resurgence. The intensity of magic in the world would increase many folds. There are going to be a lot of genius mages. The natural resources, ores, and their quality will also increase dramatically. Do you know that?"
William pulled the horse along as he intently listened to the princess. He nodded and said, "Yes, I know. I've made preparations!"
Annie scoffed and again pouted. She asked, "Do you know about the Magic Conference?"
"I know. It's a tournament for super-geniuses organized by the Temple of Light, the Magic Sanctuary, the Mercenary Guild, and the Palace of Darkness. The top prizes are generous beyond my imagination.
"If a contestant does not represent any major power, he can choose to become a member of a certain power of his choice.
"For a young and neutral Lord like me, I can gain support from the top power of my choice.
"The tournament is categorized into four regions, north, south, east, and west. There will be many genius contestants." William explained it all while smiling. Annie was bewildered.
Her look was understandable. The little princess did not have such comprehensive information. She could not imagine how William, who stayed at home most of the time, had received such detailed intelligence.
Annie bit her lips and enquired. "Do you wish to compete?"
"Of course. I won't miss this chance." William squinted. This tournament had significant future benefits. He would get the chance to know many future Legendary professionals and even sages. It would not be a big deal even if William could not win any prizes.
It was more important to participate.
"I'm thinking of participating too…"
William frowned as he glanced at Annie.
Legendary bloodline!
Legendary occupation!
Legendary equipment!
Legendary unicorn!
Legendary combat power that was off the charts.
"Good, let's participate together." William had no intention to stop her, as Annie did not lack combat power. When she became mad, she could be more powerful than William. Also, admitting defeat was allowed, so Annie would not be in any danger.
Moreover, Annie was the princess of Moonlight Forest. Nobody would dare to antagonize her.
"The City of Dawn will be able to send out many contestants!" William counted with his fingers.
"I, Annie, Xiyan, Diablo, Burned Cinder, Wells. Violent Dragon, Lautner, Legolas, and Alec."
"Gosh! Are there eleven of us?" William swallowed hard. If they performed extremely well and clinched the first few spots, then the City of Dawn would have a grand slam!
Violent Dragon, Lautner, and Jack had consumed the Legendary Blood Fruits. Their endowments were not impressive but their bloodline potential had increased to the Legendary level.
The last Legendary Blood Fruit had been taken by the golden-haired Odom who became a dwarf with Legendary bloodline.
"If the eleven warriors do not lose…" William mumbled. Even if they did not lose in the tournament, it would still be difficult for them to become Legendary warriors.
"The Legendary bloodline only gives the warrior the chance to become a Legendary professional. It doesn't mean that the warrior will become a Legendary warrior. It's a difficult process. But at least, he can become an Epic titled professional."
At that moment, William was very pleased and he mischievously laughed. The little princess thought that his laughs were perverted.
She scrutinized the sides and the front of his face.
William was so handsome…
She was filled with anticipation…
