Chapter 314 Andros the Grim Reaper

Annie's performance in the knock-out round was amazing. Although this little princess was defeated in the end, her combat ability was recognized by many contestants.

The key thing that people noticed was that the adorable little princess's destructive power was unbelievable. She was definitely not weaker than an assassin. In fact, she knew more defensive moves than assassins.

William didn't bother himself with the spectators' gossip.

He couldn't possibly tell them that if Annie had her unicorn with her, she would have faced absolutely no problem in getting into the top 10 contestants in the southern region.

After all, unicorns were as powerful as Great Dragons.

Even though the unicorns hadn't displayed its prowess during the Darkness Invasion, this magical creature was not one to be underestimated.

Nonetheless, it was a fact that Annie had lost this round.

In the finals, one would be eliminated once one lost one round.

Everyone wasn't too sad about that.

Ultimately, they had already proved themselves by reaching this stage of the competition.

Regardless of whether one had been tricked or whether one suffered from bad luck, there was no need to complain too much.

The next few rounds were equally exciting, and even William thought that the battles were wonderful to watch.

Professionals who could qualify for the finals weren't ordinary people. They were abnormally strong. They were the cream of the crop in terms of their equipment, endowments, and occupation.

In the fourth battle of the finals, Diablo was up against Andros.

Although, no one thought that Diablo could win in this battle…

It couldn't be helped. Andros, who had been possessed by the Viscount of Darkness, was way too powerful. He was so strong that he could easily defeat any top experts of the same level.

Before Diablo was about to enter the arena, William suddenly pulled him aside. "Do your best. It's okay to admit defeat if you can't overpower him. There's no need to take this battle so seriously."

"Why? I want to see how strong he is." Diablo glanced at Burned Cinder. If he managed to defeat Andros, wouldn't that make Burned Cinder very ashamed? Perhaps he would even cry his heart out.

"Up to you. However, if you are injured, I won't give you any Life Potion. You'll have to slowly recover at home." William rolled his eyes. He had already warned him. If Diablo got injured, William wasn't going to step in. He would have to depend on his endowment to recover by himself.

The World Tree didn't exist yet as of now.

He didn't have an endless supply of Life Potion!

Diablo grinned. "Rest assured, my Lord. I'll admit defeat if I'm not his match."

"A metal element warrior?" Upon seeing Diablo enter the arena, Andros tilted his head in wonder.

Diablo remained silent. He had nothing to say to this guy in front of him.

He opened his space ring, and thousands of pounds of metal fragments instantly covered the ground.

Andros nodded, seeming to come to a sudden realization. "Oh, a metal element mage."

The next moment, he eerily smiled. "So what?"

Andros, who was wearing black armor, stepped forward and drew his sword.

The long and narrow sword was only halfway out of its scabbard, yet, numerous waves of sword energy had already pierced through the air.

It formed a black trajectory in the air and headed straight for Diablo's metal element defensive barrier.

And before Diablo could counterattack, Andros's sword had already fully come out of its scabbard.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Black sword energy attacks filled the air, each taking up an area of dozens of meters. Explosion sounds could be heard, as these attacks headed towards Diablo from all directions.

Just before the attacks were going to land on him, Diablo loosened his clenched fists. The metal fragments on the ground turned into a whirling metal storm, blocking the sword attacks from reaching him.

His feet were lodged firmly on the ground like roots. He suddenly flung his metal spear forward.

Bang!

The spear produced a deafening sound as it pierced through the air, and it flew towards Andros.

The remaining metal fragments were also molded into spears. In a formation similar to that of Andros's sword attacks, the spears zoomed towards Andros with a buzzing noise.

"You're copying me?" Andros wielded his sword in his right hand, not caring about the spears that were nearing his body.

Just the moment before the spears were about to pierce through him, he dashed out from the array of spears and released three sword energy attacks.

Thereafter, he rushed towards Diablo.

Diablo kept retreating. He knew that Andros was extremely skilled in close-combat, especially since black flames were attached to his battle energy. Those flames possessed an extraordinary ability of burning others, and they were also poisonous to the touch.

However!

Andros was way too fast.

The veins on his legs had bulged to the extent that it had exploded. Blood could be seen gushing out of his leg. He was overdrawing his body potential, forcefully breaking past the metal barrier like a cannon shot. He flung his sword downwards.

Crack!

The two spears that Diablo was holding broke apart.

As the sword hacked downwards, blood splattered in mid-air.

Diablo's body was nearly split in half vertically, from his chest to his thigh. He endured the excruciating pain and clenched his fists.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Countless metal fragments created a whirling metal storm again.

A gigantic metal sphere was formed, cocooning Andros in it. Diablo was going to slice Andros into pieces!

Those metal fragments were swirling at an incredible speed. It seemed impossible to escape from them.

Just as the spectators were anticipating what would happen with their mouths wide open, a shrill roar was heard from the metal sphere.

Dark flames filled the sky.

A long black sword swept across a radius of hundred meters.

In the next moment, the metal fragments turned into dust. Diablo lost his chance at controlling the battle situation.

Andros hovered in mid-air. Not only was he unscathed, his flames also skyrocketed several meters.

Stepping on air, he made his way towards Diablo.

He slashed his sword downwards.

Swish!

Boom!

Diablo managed to avoid taking the attack head-on by a small margin.

However, a visible cut appeared on his left shoulder…

He pressed on his left shoulder with his right hand.

That was right.

That attack had cut off Diablo's left arm.

It came too fast.

Diablo only appeared to have dodged the attack as his arm hadn't detached from his body yet.

The sturdy ground of the arena had never been destroyed in the previous matches. However, that attack managed to create a deep ravine of hundreds of meters!

Every spectator who had witnessed that scene gasped in shock.

It was as if Andros was the God of Darkness himself, tyrannical and absolutely terrifying.

Andros looked like he was going to continue attacking.

Diablo finally gave up.

He decisively launched himself into the sky and admitted defeat to the referee immediately. He was afraid that Andros would play dirty tricks on him…

It could not be helped.

It had only been several seconds since the battle started, and his arm was already broken.

If he didn't admit defeat, he would probably be a pile of dead meat soon…

Andros glanced at the referee and smiled at William. He didn't continue attacking Diablo.

His target was never Diablo, Burned Cinder, Annie, or any other contestant.

William was his only target.

As long as he hadn't fought against the Lord of the City of Dawn, he didn't want to show his true power.

Nonetheless, the terrifying power that Andros had demonstrated in this match left everyone flabbergasted.

He was the only one who had managed to destroy the barrier.

Furthermore, it was a barrier set up by an archmage…

William ignored Andros's gaze. He supported Diablo and silently cursed in his heart, giving him a small bottle.

Frankly speaking, he hadn't expected Andros to be so swift in his attack, to the extent that even Diablo couldn't dodge it.

Of course, this made him more cautious and wary of Andros.

However, no matter how he racked his brains, he couldn't understand how Andros became so powerful.

"Even if the devil had taken over his body, he shouldn't be so powerful. At most, he would be on par with my Power of the Saint Spirit…"

Suddenly, William remembered the look that Andros gave him.

Why did that feel a little familiar?

That was a pair of eyes which were about to wreak havoc…

F*ck.

William did have a lot of enemies who wanted to tear him apart. However, what had he done to incur this guy's wrath?

William again cursed in his heart. Hopefully, Andros's combat power couldn't surge too much in a short period of time. He would try to delay any contact with him.

With Andros's current power, he would be a difficult opponent.

Even if William used the trump card that Momo gave him, he might not be able to win. Besides, that trump card was supposed to be used against Delosis.

Andros was like a grim reaper.

His battles not only attracted William but also Delosis.

Had this hot-tempered Herculean recalled the memories of his previous life?

No one knew.

After Delosis witnessed the battle between Diablo and Andros, he quietly sat down cross-legged, intending to train for a while.

Hmm!

Even if he could only gain a few battle energy points from this last-minute training, it was better late than never.

That might be the deciding factor in a battle.

Delosis was fairly confident that he would get the number one position.

Regardless of whether it was the Lord of the City of Dawn, who hadn't shown all his trump cards, or Andros, the little dark horse, he was positive that he could defeat them.

It was just that the battle would be a little harder and longer than usual.

"Flames." Delosis extended his hand, and a trace of flames rose from his palm.

After some time passed, he slowly raised his head to look at the sky and mumbled, "I am going to become the God of Fire. Attaining the number one position in the Magic Conference is only the first step in my journey of becoming a God."

Meanwhile, the Four Legendary Bigwigs were still observing the battles.

After looking at several battles that Andros fought in, three of them couldn't help but look at Scarbrow, who was from the Palace of Darkness.

Scarbrow could only shrug helplessly. "Why are you guys looking at me like this…"

"How is it possible that he is so strong? By right, only Delosis…"

"You know too that some people have the 'Disposition of a Sage'. The southern region is so big, is it so shocking for one to appear?" Scarbrow tried to give an explanation, but in reality, he was even more perplexed than the others.

There were a lot of occult spells in the Palace of Darkness that could drastically boost one's combat power. However, even Scarbrow did not know such an occult spell, which could last for a long time and seemed to have no repercussions.

He was very sure that Andros was not a reincarnation of a God…

Besides, Andros was a seeded contestant from the Palace of Darkness. Even if he hadn't seen him in person before, he knew how much combat power Andros possessed.

Now, the other three power centers would be thinking that he had deliberately arranged for a super genius to attend the southern region Magic Conference so that he could attain a high ranking for the Palace of Darkness…

"Putting Andros's drastic increase in combat power aside, who do you guys think will attain the number one position?" Roland Fecker suddenly asked.

"Delosis," Carlos, the chief of the Mercenary Guild in the southern region, decisively said.

Irene raised her eyebrows. "Now, it seems that it will be either Delosis or Andros."

Scarbrow did not respond. He was not sure too…

Roland grinned again. "What about another bet?"

Before Irene could say anything, Roland said, "Whoever wins, gets to date Irene for three nights!"

"Damn it, this is too much of you. Let's have a one-on-one fight." Before Irene could speak, Scarbrow wanted to challenge Roland to a duel.

Irene was almost going to agree to go on a date with him already, why did Roland pop out of nowhere again?

Roland shrugged and glanced at Scarbrow. At the rate that Scarbrow was going, he was never going to get a date.

In the end, Roland bet that William would win the number one position.

After they made the bet, Roland narrowed his eyes. He secretly cast glances at the other three. "Each one of you is up to various dirty tricks, it seems like it'll be hard for me to win. I guess I'll have to give William a little boost."
